Separating audio from video during editing provides creative freedom to adjust and enhance each element independently, making for a more polished final product. Additionally, it allows for you to re-sync your audio and video right from within the editor.
To separate your audio and video:
From within the Video Editor, right click on the video clip and select Separate Audio.
You can also use the keyboard shortcut shift+command (for Mac users) or ctrl+S (for Windows users)
This will create a new pink track on the video timeline that includes your entire audio file.

Wondering why someone might want to separate their audio from the video track? This can be beneficial for several reasons:
Enhanced Control: Separate tracks make it easier to edit audio independently from video, allowing you to adjust volume, balance, or apply effects like noise reduction without affecting the visuals.
Mute Participant Audio: Separate tracks give you the ability to mute the audio for a specific video participant.
Flexibility in Mixing: Separate tracks allow you to adjust audio levels, mute or fade parts of the audio, and create a more dynamic audio experience, making it easier to emphasize specific sounds or voices.
