What is multitrack editing and how do I use it?
Updated over a month ago

Multitrack editing is an editing method that allows creators to work with multiple layers or tracks simultaneously within a single project.

Multitrack editing is available in both the Audio Editor and Video Editor, where each track represents a different element, such as:

  • Audio tracks: Voiceovers, music, sound effects, or interviews.

  • Video tracks: Clips, overlays, B-roll footage, or visual effects.

  • Text or graphic layers: Titles, subtitles, logos, or animations.

Multitrack editing in the Audio Editor

Within the Audio Editor, one track appears for each recording, music track, or special effect. You can learn more about what each different track color means here.

Multitrack editing in the Video Editor

Multitrack editing in the video editor is very similar to the Audio Editor, the primary difference being that each participant’s video will appear as its own track on the timeline. If you choose to separate audio and video, each will appear as it’s own track, each audio track appearing in pink.

To add music from Podcastle’s library to your video project, download the music track from the audio editor, then upload it into your video project. Don’t forget to copy the track’s license code!
