How do I detect and remove filler words?
Updated over a week ago

Podcastle’s filler word detection automatically detects different versions of filler words (think “um, uh, mhm”) and provides the option to remove each of these words individually, or all at once.

To remove filler words:

  1. Navigate to the text editor and click on Filler.

    1. NOTE: Your audio will first need to be transcribed in order for the text editor to appear.

  2. By default, Podcastle searches for the following preset filler words: mmm, um, uh, uhm, uhh, umm, mm, mhm.

    1. To remove all filler words within your recording, click Remove all.

    2. To remove filler words on an individual basis, click each word, followed by the Remove button.

To find and remove individual (non-filler) words:

  1. Navigate to the text editor and click on the search icon.

    1. NOTE: Your audio will first need to be transcribed in order for the text editor to appear.

  2. Type any word into the search bar.

    1. To remove all instances of the word within your recording, click Remove all.

    2. To remove the word on an individual basis, click each word, followed by the Remove button.
