The ripple delete function removes a selected clip and automatically closes the gap by shifting the remaining clips on the timeline to fill in the space. Unlike a regular delete function, which leaves an empty gap, ripple delete keeps the timeline seamless, adjusting the position of surrounding clips to maintain continuity.
To use the ripple delete function:
Open the video project you want to edit.
Right click on the video clip.
Select Ripple Delete or use the keyboard shortcut.
💥Tips & Tricks💥
The ripple delete tool can be applied to either a single clip or multiple clips.
If used on a single clip, it removes that clip and shifts the subsequent content to fill the space.
When applied to multiple clips, it removes all selected clips and adjusts the timeline to close any resulting gaps.
This tool is particularly useful for quickly tightening up edits, eliminating pauses, or removing unwanted segments without needing to manually adjust every subsequent clip in the timeline.
