What is Ghost Mode?
Updated over a month ago

Available in the Video Editor, ghost mode allows for the ability to overlay a clip onto another without affecting the position or duration of the underlying clip. The new clip seamlessly sits on top without trimming, shifting, or altering the original in any way.

This approach to overlaying clips is unique and originates from Podcastle’s Audio Editor. A red outline will indicate when a clip has ghosted over another.

Ghost mode is particularly useful for advanced video editing tasks, including animations, scene continuity, and seamless visual effects. Specifically, this feature allows creators to compare frames or align edits visually to:

  • Match the position of objects between two clips for a seamless transition.

  • Align movements frame-by-frame for a smooth transition.

  • Assist in comparing two shots or ensuring continuity between scenes.
