Did you know that Podcastle now lets you assign a Producer role for your recording sessions? Producers can manage settings, guide the conversation, and support hosts behind the scenes, without being recorded. It’s a great way to collaborate more effectively, especially for team or client-based recordings.
How to add a producer?
From the Studios page, you can generate two types of links - Guest and Producer.
Choose Producer to send someone a backstage pass to the session. They can also be invited from inside the studio, via email or by simply sending the link.
What does the Producer see?
When the producer joins, they’ll enter the Waiting Room, where they’ll see a quick pop-up with helpful tips about their role.
Inside the studio, the producer sees the host and guests in full screen. Their own video appears in a smaller corner frame. They are visible and audible to everyone, but their audio and video are not recorded.
What can the Producer do?
Manage each participant’s audio/video settings (mute, camera, mic, speaker, echo cancellation toggle).
Add a script to the teleprompter for the host.
Start and stop the recording.
Add Marks to flag key moments in the recording, with optional comments.
Accessing the Recording
If the producer joins via a link only, they won’t be able to access the final recordings after the session ends.
To give the producer access to recordings and the editor, they must:
Be part of the team workspace
Be added as an Admin or Creator
Be on a Business plan (Producer mode is only available for Business plan subscribers)
💥 Tips & Tricks
Producers are not recorded, but they are fully part of the conversation.
Their job is to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes.
Add a producer when you want to focus on the content, not the tech.
