How do I add subtitles to my video?

Updated this week

Adding subtitles to your video content is a great way to boost accessibility and engagement. Subtitles not only make your videos more inclusive but also cater to viewers who prefer or require text-based content.

To add subtitles to your video:

  1. Navigate to Subtitles, the icon located on the bottom left side of the editor panel.

  2. From here, you can decide what you want to subtitle:

    • The entire project

    • A specific audio file

    • Or even upload your own subtitle file

    • You also have the option to transcribe manually if you’d like full control.

    select options
  3. Next, select the spoken language, and if needed, choose to add a translation into another language.

  4. Once your options are set, click Generate Auto Subtitles. Depending on the length of your file(s), it may take a few moments for the subtitles to generate.

  5. The transcribed text will now appear overlaid in the video. You can edit the text, edit the font, and add animations, and even download your transcriptions.

💥Tips & Tricks💥

  • Text and images will be filtered out of the subtitle transcription process.

  • Subtitles are generated for your entire video project unless you specifically choose an individual file.

  • Use the translation option to create multilingual subtitles for your content.

  • If you already have a subtitle file (like .srt), uploading it can save time.
