Tips for a Seamless Recording Experience on Podcastle
Tips for a Seamless Recording Experience on Podcastle
Updated over a week ago

It’s time to start recording! Before jumping into the recording studio, we’ve made a quick checklist of tips and recommendations for a seamless experience.

  1. Pre-Recording Preparation:

    • Check equipment recommendations for your mic, camera, or other devices.

    • Ensure a stable internet connection. We recommend a consistent network speed that's over 2 mbps. You can navigate to fast.com to check your internet speed.

    • If you will be recording using a laptop or desktop, log into your Podcastle account using Google Chrome and avoid using Incognito/Private mode.

      • You’ll also want to verify that only one Podcastle tab is open on your browser!

    • Close any CPU-consuming programs and unnecessary browser tabs.

  2. Recording Recommendations:

We recommend that all recording participants (including you, the host!) follow these recommendations:

    • Wear headphones to avoid echo and enhance audio quality.

    • Use external microphones, preferably wired. Check out this video for equipment recommendations.

    • Turn off VPNs, browser extensions, and firewalls.

  3. During Recording:

    • Conduct a test recording to ensure that all external devices are working properly.

    • You can stop recording and re-start at any during. Once you are ready to leave the studio, make sure the upload has reached 100% before leaving the studio.

    • After stopping, remind guests to keep the browser/app open until the upload completes. If your guest happens to leave the studio before their uploaded has completed, don’t panic! You can send them a recovery link.

      • Just make sure your guest opens the link using the same device/browser that was used during the recording.
